The University of Florida's Centre for Aquatic and Invasive Species presents this website of aquatic and invasive species in Florida. Many of the webpages include excellent images and line drawings of Florida’s aquatic and invasive plant flora, some of which may be found in our area. Select from the link to species lists of emergent, submergent, or free-floating aquatic plants.


Botanical Bullies

A nicely illustrated 2-page PDF file on invasive garden species from the Washington State Noxious Weed Control Board, intended to remind gardeners not to dispose of unwanted garden plants in a manner that will allow them to invade our natural habitats.


Connecticut’s Invasive Aquatic and Wetland Plants

This PDF file provide well organized and attractive information sheets to 22 invasive species. A key to the species is provided, as well as information on how to differentiate between similar species, and what to do if you encounter one of these species in Connecticut lakes. Invasive Plants of Canada

The Canadian Botanical Conservation Network (CBCN) has compiled this website on invasive species in Canada. Educational information and newsletters are among the links included in this website. Lists of invasive herbs, trees, and shrubs, with brief descriptions, can be accessed from this webpage.

An informative website from the U.S. Department of Agriculture that features profiles on many plant species that are, or have the potential to become, invasive in Canada.


Ohio Perennial and Biennial Weed Guide

A useful website with basic descriptions and images of many common weeds found in eastern North America, often including images of the seedling stage to help facilitate weeding. Developed by the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Centre, Ohio State University, Wooster, OH.


Ontario’s Invading Species Awareness Program

A well-organized site by OMNR and the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, which presents information on invasive aquatic and terrestrial plants, fish, forest pests, invertebrates, and pathogens in Ontario. Information is provided to help identify each species and what the reader can do to help prevent the spread of these species.
